Where to Vacation this Year for a 2nd Honeymoon?
This year my husband, Mike, and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage. I promised that I would use my Avon Earnings to take us on vacation for our 10 year honeymoon. We honeymooned in Hawaii in Oahu and it was fantastic! We learned how to snorkel, we swam with dolphins and manta Rays, and climbed to the top of Diamond Head!
I am really conflicted about where we should go this year. I have been fascinated with snorkeling and I hear that Belize is a great place to go. The American dollar is worth double there also! (1 US $1 = $2 in Belize) I like the sound of money going further so Belize is right up there on my list. I found that we could go the island of Cay Caulker and the price of places to stay are under $100 per night! (some substantially so) There are an abundance of water activities and Mayan ruins to tour.
My husband and I enjoyed a Carnival Cruise 2 years ago and he did mention that we could enjoy another one this year. There is one that I found that Belize is a destination. But you only have about 8 hours there and we did find that the day goes really fast when you are in port and excursions that you purchase can take almost all the time up so you miss out on doing some other things while there. Of course if we don't purchase and excursion then we are able to do whatever we want and that will take quite a bit of planning. We did some excursions that included some Mayan ruins in Mexico and also snorkeling and shopping. . We also enjoyed the dancing onboard. After our cruise we took ballroom dance lessons for the past year and now we can really dance!
I would like to see some of the other Hawaiian islands or the US Virgin Islands. St. Thomas and St. John really appeal to me as well. Italy and France are on my list as well. My husband would like to go to Alaska, the Grand Canyon, Australia, Vegas to see Hoover Dam (he is not a gambler). He would like to see Mt. Rushmore. He isn't into the beach like I am. I could lie on a beach for days on end but he would be bored. He really likes to do activities that we can do together.
So my dear readers, if you have been to any of these places, what would you recommend? Is there another idea that you may have? I appreciate any help to guide me to great decision for our 2nd honeymoon.
